Spekero (SCT) is designed with privacy in mind. The goal is to help people practise speaking without requiring accounts and without storing unnecessary personal information on external servers whenever possible.
Audio recordings
When you record speech using SCT, the audio is processed temporarily so the app can generate a transcript and analyse speaking speed, filler words, and clarity-related patterns. These recordings are not stored permanently by the website after processing. SCT is designed to support private speaking practice without building a long-term voice archive on external servers.
Local data storage
Speaking history, practice results, and certain preferences are stored locally in your browser using local storage. If you sign in, Spekero can also store your speaking history with your account so it can sync across devices. Raw audio is not stored for account history.
Cookies and analytics
SCT uses essential technologies required for the website to function correctly, such as saving certain preferences and supporting core site behaviour. We also use Google Analytics to understand general site usage, such as page visits and overall engagement, so we can improve performance, reliability, and content. Optional analytics cookies are only intended to be used when you provide consent through the site’s cookie controls.
Advertising and Google AdSense
SCT may display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit repeated ads, measure ad performance, and in some cases personalise advertising based on visits to this and other websites. Your control
You remain in control of local browser data and can clear locally saved history by clearing browser storage. If you use account history, the account system may keep transcripts, analysis, recording metadata, and dates for sync. You can also manage whether optional analytics cookies are accepted through the cookie consent banner, and you can manage Google advertising preferences through Google’s ad settings tools.
What SCT is not
Spekero is a speaking practice tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or professional diagnosis, treatment, or advice. The feedback provided by the website is intended for personal practice, reflection, and communication improvement only.
Policy updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the website, analytics, advertising, legal requirements, or product features. When updates are made, the revised version will appear on this page.
